And I'm Molly, and we're the owners of Hired Hand Software and Hired Hand Live. Each Monday, we break down the numbers from the past weekend sale, online and in-person averages, high sellers, bidding trends, and what the data tells us about the current Longhorn market. Let's take a quick look at what happened this weekend. In today's Monday Mini, we're recapping the 2026 tophand sale from August 22nd in Rapid City, South Dakota. We'll be breaking down the most viewed animals, top sellers, both online and in person, and overall activity on HigherhandLive.com.

Jerry and Gretchen Lopspeak from Crawford, Nebraska said, our two girls that sold went to great homes. Lot 10 was bought by an eight-year-old boy to start his own Longhorn herd, and our lot 21 pair was also bought by an 11-year-old to start his longhorn herd. It makes our hearts happy to see that our girls will be loved.

Now that we've heard your highlights from the weekend, let's turn to the numbers. The top hand sale delivered strong engagement both in the ring and online, and the data tells the story from the sale averages to total views and activity on hiredhandlive.com.

There were 44 lots sold in total. The unofficial total was $165,900, while the unofficial average was $3,770. The internet only average for this sale was $3,568.

With this being the 14th sale of 2026 in our Hired Hand Live Trends and Averages series, the year-to-date average now sits at $10,102, with the internet only average at $7,046.

There were just under 10,000 total views of consignments online with 53 registered internet bidders for this sale.

The most viewed lot after the sale was lot one, O'Brien's Who, consigned by Jody and Scott O'Brien with just over 500 hits.

Now that we've covered those stats, let's spotlight the top five in-person sales from the top hand sale. These consignments drew serious attention and left South Dakota with some excited new owners.

The fifth highest selling lot to an in-person buyer was lot 26. TC Sister Bold Lady, consigned by Teddy Cattleco, selling for $5,250 to Gustin Byers.

The fourth highest selling lot to an in-person buyer resulted in a tie. The tie was between lot number two, Cross V Gunner, consigned by Russell Freeman, selling for $5,500 to Wyatt Shack, and lot number seven, Little Ace TC Bunny, consigned by Tayday Cattle Company, selling for $5,500.

The third highest selling lot to an in-person buyer was lot $4, O'Brien's Winning Pride, consigned by Scott and Jody O'Brien, selling for $5,750 to JC Jones.

There was another tie for the second highest selling lots to in-person buyers between lot number 21, LJL Hot Bailey, consigned by Jerry and Gretchen Lotspeak, selling for $6,500 to Brody Swans, and also lot number 45 sold to Brody Swans, and that was Lazy Jays Mia, consigned by Lorna Buss.

And the number one high-selling lot to an in-person buyer was lot 48 RVR Smokin' Blues, consigned by Luke and Jackie Moltoff, selling for $6,600 to Bud and Terry Adolph.

The fifth highest selling lot to an online buyer was lot 31, Celina FL, consigned by Faye Longhorn, selling for $3,800 to David Bornitz.

The fourth highest selling lot on Hired Hand Live was number 22, RJF Casanova Rosebud, consigned by Chad Smith Chris Kubal Partnership, selling for $4,000 to David Bornitz.

And the third highest selling lot, once again sold to David Bornitz, was lot 30, HCR shortcut, consigned by Scott and Jody O'Brien for $4,750.

The second highest selling lot over Hired Hand Live was number 27, Katie Lock Dye, consigned by Ernie Hoddle, selling for $5,000 to Jay Adams.

And the number one highest selling lot to an online buyer was lot 26, TC's Sister Bold Lady, consigned by Tatie Cattle Company, selling for $5,250 to Guston Buyers.
